Tableau 2019.1 Support

We now have support for Tableau 2019.1.

Our standard practice is to support the eight most recent releases of Tableau. Tableau 10.2 is now the minimum version of Tableau Server that we support.

Tableau Rebranding and Installer

Power Tools Server now has Tableau branding and installer changes to reflect new ownership. This means the product will install side-by-side with the legacy InterWorks product instead of upgrading it automatically. The recommended steps to upgrade are:

  • Stop all installed InterWorks agents.
  • Wait for the data processing to complete.
  • Stop and uninstall InterWorks master server.
  • Run the Tableau master server installer to install Tableau master server.
  • Stop Tableau master server.
  • Copy over config/config.json from InterWorks Master server directory to Tableau Master server directory.
  • Restart Tableau master server.
  • Run the Tableau agent installers to install Tableau agents.
  • Stop Tableau agents.
  • Copy over config/config.json from InterWorks agent directory to Tableau agent directory.
  • Restart Tableau agents.

Once Tableau Power Tools for Server installation is complete, and you have confirmed it is working as expected, uninstall the InterWorks Power Tools for Server.
